Robot- Assisted Heart Surgery

What if Heart Surgery did not leave a Huge Scar?
Robot-Assited Heart Surgery

What is Robot-Assisted Heart Surgery?

Robot-assisted heart surgery integrates advanced computer technology with the experience of the skilled surgeon. This technology provides the surgeon with a 10x magnified, high-definition, 3D-image of the body’s intricate anatomy through a small incision. Though referred to as a ‘robot’, the system cannot act on its own. The surgery is performed entirely by your doctor.

In robot-assisted heart surgery, instead of cutting the breast-bone (sternum) the surgeon makes a small incision between the rib-space and performs heart surgery.

The surgeon uses very small surgical instruments that can bend and rotate more than the human wrist. Thereby the surgeon can operate with enhanced precision, dexterity and control to perform even the most complex surgery. The robotic system has been used successfully worldwide in hundreds of thousands of procedures to date.
